VV RUN
< Vice Versa Run >
This is a two-week passion project partnered with Lala Land Los Angeles, where we students were given a midsole and piles of manufacturing scraps to build up a shoe from the ground up. As somewhat of a sneaker-head, this is a 'dream come true' moment, and I'm happy to share the first shoe I've ever built under my < Vice Versa > brand!
Idea

We were given the 'John Geiger midsole to build our design upon and turn it into a unique shoe of our own!

Pattern Making

Tracing my final pattern design onto the taped last to create the template for the actual shoe making.

Cut out patterns following the tape drawings with the added seam allowance to create guides.

Finally, cut out the actual parts on the dedicated fabrics following the cutting guides from above.
Turn it into a Shoe

Starting by sewing up the body and panels

Pull and nail the body and insole onto the last

Sew up the zippers and velcro pads

Once glued and secured remove the nails

Finish up the upper by sewing up the heel seam

Finally, glue the midsole and the body
